Camp rules

The Administration reserves the right to reject an applicant and to send home any boy or girl whose influence is considered injurious to the best interest of the camp and/or campers.

  • Due to safety, health concerns and camp environment, we request that campers do not bring electronic games, mp3 format players(Ipods, etc.), cellular phones, jewelry, knives, guns, ammunition, fireworks, matches, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, etc. to camp.

Medical help & safety

We meet the requirements of American Camp Association (ACA) for medical supervision.  The water supply is inspected and approved by the state health department.  Cohutta Springs is proud of it's safety record.  Important:  Your health history form (which you will receive along with your confirmation) must be brought to camp with you.  Please Note:  Camper registration includes limited accident insurance.  Health insurance remains the family's responsibility, i.e. flu, earaches, and other personal health issues.

Friends can stay together, IF...

you sign up for the same attraction.  Campers are assigned to cabins according to their attraction, and on a "first come, first serve" basis.  This will enable counselor supervision at all times throughout the week, and will enhance your check-in experience on Sunday.  When registering online, register on the same day for the same attraction to insure availability.  If mailing your applications, mail applications to the office in the same envelope.

Yes, you can stay more than one week

As long as it is age appropriate for your child, we would be glad to have him/her register for a second week.  Free laundry service is provided for campers staying more than one week.

Seven totally healthy days

Sunshine, mountain fresh air, up-lifting role models, lots of exercise and healthy food (delicious and complete vegetarian meals) all combine to provide our campers the seven healthiest days to be found anywhere!

Cohutta Springs Camp Store

At our own camp store, campers buy Cohutta Springs mementos including caps, postcards, quality sweatshirts, T-shirts, snacks, etc.  We suggest $30-$90 spending money.  You may send money with the application to put on your child's account.  We encourage campers to keep thier money in the camp store bank where it is safe and they have access to it during all camp store hours.  Whatever money is not spent will be returned to them at week's end along with a detailed account of their expenditures.

Camper check-in & pick-up

Check-in on Sunday is from 2:00-4:30 pm (EST).  Because our staff is anxious to make your child's week at camp the best it can be, they are totally involved with camp preparation details.  Therefore, we cannot accept early camper check-ins or have parents drop off campers early.  Camper pick-up time is at 10:00 am (EST), Sunday.  If picking up and dropping off children on the same Sunday, pick up my be delayed until you arrive to check in your new camper.  Please note:  It is ideal if you arrive at 2:00 pm for new camper Check-In so your waiting child doesn't have to wait all afternoon.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Staff selection

Great camps start with the best staff.  We never hire on a whim or perception, only with unquestioning recommendations of highly credible people who know them well.  Staff employment requires a formal application, three recommendation forms, and an interview with the Camp Director.  A background check is run on each person hired.
